Sir/Madam,

                                  Through the columns of your esteem daily, I would like to draw the attention of the concerned authority and general public on the burning issue of child abuse. The menace of child abuse is raising its ugly head and increasing at an alarming rate. Look to any City or any town, you will find this inhuman practice prevalent everywhere. It is indeed shameful to witness the innocent children having to bear such treatment at any age when they should have been going to school and educating themselves.

                                   Mostly these children are treated like slaves, working in subhuman conditions. It is a common sight to see these underprivileged children in road side Dhabas, small factories or near garbage heaps. Children remain undernourished, are made to work day night and are inadequately dressed. The wages given to these children working in factories and dhaba are hopelessly low.

                                   These children have to suffer because of no fault of their own. If anything, it is the failure on the part of the person responsible for well-being of the concern child. Child abuse leads to many harmful and detrimental effects. The abused children tend to take to crimes, substance abuse and abusive behavior. Child abuse may have permanent effect on the mental health of the child.

                                  Children are the future of the country and they deserve a good upbringing in healthy environment. Every little effort must be done and encouraged by everyone to prevent child abuse. Country with weak children cannot stand tall and be strong.
